The 2025 George Bolitho Shield final took place by kind permission at Cape Cornwall Golf Club on Sunday 30th November.
The 2024 winners Falmouth, faced a team from St Austell Golf Club and we got lucky with a lovely sunny day. With outstanding views of the Atlantic and out to the Isle of Scilly in the distance, Cape Cornwall was in excellent condition and all the juniors were ready for an exciting afternoon of golf.

In the first match, Izzy Wakeling for Falmouth was playing against Morley Lambert from St Austell. Izzy was 1 Up after 16 holes and then managed to hole a four foot putt for the half on the 17th to remain 1 Up going up the 18th hole. Both Wakeling and Lambert made solid pars down 18 to result in a 1 Up with for Falmouth.
In match 4, Jenson Davis for Falmouth played some excellent golf to beat St Austell's Olivia Tucker and in match 5, St Austell's Owen Withers came from a couple of down early on to beat Falmouth's Harry Carter, both matches by a margin of 5 and 4. After three match the contest was Falmouth 2 - 1 St Austell with still 2 matches still on the course.
In Match 2, Falmouth's Rory Julian was playing against St Austell's Luca Vercoe and this was another close match with the game all square after 16. Julian managed to win the 17th hole to go one up going down the 18th hole and similar to the first match, both player made good pars, resulting in a 1 Up victory for Julian. This was enough to confirm Falmouth as the winners of the 2025 Bolitho Shield.
In match 3, St Austell's Edwin Grubert managed to win by 2 holes against Falmouth's Aiden Jones to finish the result, Falmouth 3 - 2 St Austell.
The match was played in excellent spirit and was fantastic to see so much great golf from the juniors involved on both teams. Many thanks for all of the junior organisers and parents for all their support and to Cape Cornwall Golf Club for being such fantastic hosts for the final.
