The CGU County Championship Week 2025 will take place at Trevose G&CC GC from Sunday 27th April to Saturday 43rd May 2025 and we are looking forward to being there again. The week was last staged at Trevose in 2000 when Steve Chapman (St Enodoc) became County Champion.
As usual the week sees a number of the customary competitions taking place and entries are pouring in!
Sunday 27th - Royal Cornwall Goblets - Foursomes stableford
Monday 28th - Seniors and Founders Cups. Open to Seniors over the age of 55 on the day of the competition. The Founders Cup is open to all. Both are stablefords.
Tuesday 29th - Royal Cornwall Challenge Cup Pairs Betterball stableford
Wednesday 30th - the traditional 36 hole qualifier for the Amateur Championship. Limited to 72 players as we look for the top 32 to go through to matchplay stages.
Thursday 1st - Top 32 in Amateur Championship become the last 16 and then the last 8. Also the Lawrance Cup individual stableford
Friday 2nd - The last 8 become 4 and then 2 in the Amateur Championship. Also the Western Morning News Challenge Cup - a 3 man team with two scores to count.
Saturday 3rd - The Amateur Championship Final will be contested over 36 holes. Also taking place will be the semi finals and finals of the A & B Team Club Championship. The prizegiving for all the week's events will take place upon conclusion.
Entries for the Monday through Friday competitions will be available online via the CGU website in early 2025.
The CGU County Championship Week 2023 will take place at Newquay GC from Sunday 14th to Saturday 20th May 2023 and we are looking forward to being there again. The week was last staged at Newquay in 2016 when the now Professional Joe Cruse (St Enodoc) became County Champion.

The Clubs current Committee commissioned a new Centenary Club logo for the year and are planning Centenary celebrations throughout the year.
The main events will be around when the Club was formed on July, 11 1922 and the October of the same year when golf was first played at the 75-acre grounds of the former Basset Estate.
The Club will hold a Centenary golf week starting with Winners Recruitment Pro-Am on Friday, July 8 2022. On Saturday, July 9 the Centenary Salvers a Stableford competition for the Ladies and Gentlemen members.
The Salvers have been kindly donated by Mrs Elizabeth Shrivell, an Honorary Life Member of the Club. That evening a champagne reception hosted by the Centenary Ladies and Club Captain's Mrs Tricia Andrews and Mr Richard Brighton will be held in the Clubhouse for the Membership.
On Monday, July 11 the Centenary day itself, the Club President Mr Bernard Williams will host an evening reception for the Membership and invited guests, kindly sponsored by St Austell Brewery who has had a longstanding relationship with the Club.
All week there will be daily competitions cumulating on Saturday, July 16 with a Texas scramble and Centenary Party Night for the Membership and their families.
The Club will be running their normal Open Events and the August Festival Week where they hope to welcome back old friends and new to celebrate throughout the year.
In October there will be a gala dinner to celebrate 100 years of golf at Tehidy Park Golf Club.
Richard Brighton the Centenary club Captain said: “This is a very exciting time for the Club and the Membership there is a real buzz about the place and we have been making improvements to the Clubhouse and Course which is fantastic and we are looking forward to a brilliant yearâ€.

The Cornwall Golf Union announced on 16th February 2021, alternative arrangements have been made to stage County Championship Week 2021.
After the original dates in May this year became impossible the Union was approached by a number of clubs expressing support and interest in hosting.
The CGU Executive has decided to take up the offer made by the Board of Truro Golf Club and as a result County Week 2021 will take place there from the 12th to the 18th September.
Entries for the competitions will be made available online in June.
CGU Championship Week 2021 was due to take place at St Enodoc GC from 16th to 22nd May 2021.
Owing to pandemic related matters the Management Committee at St Enodoc made the decision in early February 2021 they could no longer host this years event.
The CGU is working to quickly come up with an alternative venue.
The CGU Amateur Championship Meeting (County Week) this year takes place between Monday 7th September and Sunday 13th September by kind invitation at St Austell GC.
