Unification - Extraordinary General Meeting 27th November 2025

The process of unification of the Cornwall Ladies County Golf Association (CLCGA) and the Cornwall Golf Union (CGU) is now reaching a point where meetings dealing with the dissolution of both entities needs to be addressed.

With the CGU in mid there will be an Extraordinary General Meeting on Thursday 27th November 2025 at the Lanhydrock Hotel & GC commencing at 7.00pm.

  • Dissolution of Cornwall Golf Union and necessary associated actions, with effect from 28th February 2026.
  • The creation of a new incorporated body, Cornwall Golf Ltd, to come into effect from 1st March 2026.

Immediately following the EGM there will be a General Meeting of the CGU which includes a proposal that the 2026 affiliation fee be £15 per member.

The two meetings on 27th November are important for the future of golf in Cornwall, and we sincerely hope our affiliated clubs will recognise this and be able to send a mandated club representative. We will be making individual contact with clubs to secure a healthy attendance.

Separately the CLCGA are holding meetings on 12th November at Mawgan Porth GC when delegates will vote on unification and the proposed affiliation fee. Then on 2nd December at Perranporth GC the CLCGA will stage two meetings, an EGM and their AGM. At the EGM delegates will be asked to ratify the decision made by the Delegates at their earlier meeting.

Subject to both the CGU and CLCGA approving respective dissolutions and the unification, Cornwall Golf Ltd will be formed pre Christmas 2025.and then formally come into effect on 1st March 2026 . The following day (2nd March) there will be an official launch.
