Junior Tour Round 4 - Trethorne Golf Club

Scores and update from Trethorne Golf Club - Sunday 3rd August 2025

The ever popular Cornwall Golf Junior Tour sponsored by Jewson played round 4 at Trethorne Golf Club on Sunday 3rd August 2025. The tour numbers were slightly down with a number of tour members on holiday. Nonetheless over 50 junior golfers played in the event across the three categories.

Obviously, with the month of August and the school holidays starting the day started with a thick and heavy Cornish mizzle. This was the 11th event in the past two years and the first that had a wet start. The weather improved through the afternoon as did the scoring with some very impressive golf played.

Rory Hudson (West Cornwall) picked up two prizes on the day winning the scratch competition with 29 stableford points and a 3rd place in the 0-28 handicap event. Theo Davies (Falmouth) maintained his 100% record in having played in two of the four events this year and picked up his second win of the year with a very convincing 43 Points. Rupert O'Donnell (The Point) was second with 39 points.

The 29 - 54 handicap category played over nine holes was won by Eli Peters (Falmouth) with a very good 22 points, second place was secured by Logan Reed (St Mellion) with 21 points and Amelia Richards losing out on count back also with 21 points and claiming third. Amelia has shown some great consistency with finishing in third place for the third event running.

The Golf Access group was won by Dougie Smith (Trevose) with a nett 37, Sam Brown (West Cornwall0 was second with a nett 41 and Will Stevens (west Cornwall) third with a nett 42.

Prizes are 1st Scratch £50.00 voucher. Other categories 1st place £50.00 voucher, 2nd place £30.00 voucher and 3rd place £20.00. These will be available for collection at the next event or I will leave at home clubs if and when I am passing.

Junior Tour 2025 - Order Of Merit Standings - After Round 4

After four rounds of the tour with the last two rounds to be played at Mullion GC on 28th September 2025 and West Cornwall GC on 19th October 2025 the order of merit places are as follows:

Scratch:

1st - Charlotte Jenkin - 47 points

2nd - Oban Robinson - 31 points

3rd - Joab Atkins - 30 points

0-28 Handicap Category:

This is a tight group and has provided a very interesting contest as it did last year.

1st - Luke Harrison - 31 points

2nd - Theo Davies - 30 points

3rd - Abel Bale - 29 points

29-54 Handicap Category:

1st - Mason Farhall - 46 points

2nd - Amelia Richards & Lucas Lawrence - 30 points

3rd - Owen Withers - 25 points

Golf Access Category:

1st - Albert Wilson - 36 points

2nd - Ella Harrison & Dougie Smith - 35 points

3rd - Sam Brown - 27 points.
