Well done to St Enodoc Junior Alfie Chapman on qualifying for the English Schools Golf Association National finals at Woodhall Spa next month.
In yesterday's ESGA SW Boys Individual Championship at Enmore Park, Somerset, in tough conditions, 15 year old Alfie recorded a morning 77 (+6) but went on to shoot the best second round score, a level par 71, for a total of 148, finishing just 6 shots behind winner Jaxson Perry (1 Handicap). Alfie playing yesterday off 3.3 now sees his handicap reduced to 2.4. Good work Alfie - fast becoming a name to look out for!
Alfie's reward is the trip to Woodhall Spa on 23rd June for what is a 36 hole national final.
Today Alfie is part of the Cornwall U16/U14 9 strong team playing a practice round at Yeovil ahead of tomorrow's SWCGA Championship.
