2025 Junior Tour

The 2025 Junior Tour kicks off again on Monday 21st April 2025 at the wonderful Bowood Park GC. Entrants from all over the county will come together to compete in this years extended tour. Six events have been organised starting at Bowood, then Cape Cornwall, Launceston, Trethorne, Mullion and finally West Cornwall.

2024 - End of season competition winners @ West Cornwall Golf Club

This year will see the introduction of now four order of merit events. For the first time the 0-28 category will be played over 18 holes on each round with a new scratch order of merit being introduced. The original order of merits for 0-28 handicaps, 29-54 handicaps and Golf Access will remain. The 29-54 and Golf Access categories will remain as 9-hole events.

Last years order of merit winners, Yves Armstrong-Donaldson (0-28), Jenson Davies (29-54) and Nellie Hosking (Golf Access) will all be looking to step up to the next categories through the 2025 season and showcase their progression in the game. In particular Jenson Davies and Nellie Hosking have already moved into the next handicap categories. We imagine that Yves Armstrong-Donaldson may be focused on the prestigious scratch prize, but his studies in the important GCSE year for him may just hamper him.

Richard Bunch the CGU Development Officer comments " We have looked to enhance the Junior Tour in 2025 to give all the junior golfers the opportunity to play more competitive golf on a range of courses to assist in their development." He continues "We are working hard to ensure Cornwall's junior golfers have the best possible platforms to develop as players and hopefully go on to represent the county at junior, men's elite and senior golf in the future. We have been behind the curve compared to other counties in our South-West area and we want to ensure we level that playing field in the coming years. This event, along with all the other junior opens hosted by our clubs through the season are so important. We have invested in our Preparation and Performance academy and these competitive events gives our juniors the ideal opportunity to highlight their progress and personal performance.

The county are grateful for the generous sponsorship of this years Junior Tour ensuring each event will have a generous prize fund for all the categories and the OOM winners.

We are still accepting applications for the 2025 tour in all categories.
