The Cornwall Golf Union invites applications for the role of Cornwall County Golf General Manager (County Secretary)
The Cornwall Golf Union was established in 1901 and exists to promote and manage the amateur game of golf within the Duchy. We currently have 30 affiliated member clubs and approximately 12,000 affiliated members.
After 13 years of loyal service, our current County Secretary is retiring from post in November 2025. Applications are invited to take on this position.
The role is permanent and full time, and is home based requiring a high degree of flexibility and travel.
Key responsibilities include managing the County office and communication with affiliated clubs and members on a range of topics (including handicapping matters, collection of affiliation fees, and the implementation of Cornwall Golf Union and England Golf policy) and assisting county officials with the running of county meetings and competitions.

It is anticipated that an appropriate handover period will be provided, working alongside the current County Secretary, to ensure a smooth transition.
The Cornwall Golf Union is currently working with the Cornwall Ladies County Golf Association towards becoming a unified body in early 2026. On successful completion of this process, the role will transfer across to the new body.
Remuneration: The role attracts a competitive salary plus workplace pension.
