MacGregor's Farewell as Cornwall Face Wiltshire Tomorrow

Rob MacGregor - playing his last match for Cornwall tomorrow.

Cornwall's long standing stalwart team player Rob MacGregor (Tehidy Park) will play his last match as an amateur for Cornwall tomorrow as the Duchy team take on Wiltshire at St Enodoc GC.

MacGregor who has excelled for Cornwall over many years is part of the Cornwall team playing their final Channel League match of the season and it promises to be an emotional occasion as he leaves the amateur ranks to take up a role as Professional.

Records show the much loved MacGregor representing Cornwall in at least 100 match appearances with 54 wins and 15 halves and his name has been the first on the sheet for many County Captains over the years. Everyone is agreed Rob has done his bit for the county and we all wish him well as he takes up a new role. Go out with a bang Boc!

MacGregor could arguably be named as one of the best players not to win a County Championship but in the period 2015 - 19 he claimed three Cornish Closed wins. He was an integral part of the Cornwall team which won the English Men's County Finals on 2014 and once again when Cornwall reached the finals in 2016.

The full team for tomorrow's match is : MacGregor, Matt Richards (West Cornwall), Tom Stephens (Trevose), James Ruddick (Perranporth), Sam Crocker (Carlyon Bay), Jamie Greet (Mullion), Kieran Faulkner (Looe), Jared Mortimore (Truro), Louis Archer (St Enodoc) and Kyle Fraser (Mullion).
