Want To Volunteer

Giving up your time can really benefit the game of golf. You can increase a golfer’s confidence on the course, put plans into action on a sub-committee or even volunteer to help improve the golf course with the green staff.

And it’s good for you too! It’s been proven that volunteering has a positive effect on mental health and happiness.

Ways to get involved

You’ll need to think about what skills you could bring to a club and how much time you want to commit. There are plenty of different volunteer roles at clubs across the country, including:

Junior Golf – run events and matches for children getting into the game

Welfare and Safeguarding – work with others at the golf club to ensure a safe and inclusive environment

Community Golf Instructor – Support PGA Professionals and coaches to grow the game, with a focus on getting golf into schools, community engagement and bringing more beginner activity into golf clubs

Refereeing – support the major competitions and matches and become a Club Rules Ambassador and progress to becoming a Level 2 qualified referee

Course Ratings – assisting the Course Rating Lead to assess courses for slope ratings

Events – plan events at your club such as family open days and recruitment sessions

Marketing and communications – develop your club’s marketing and promotional material
